The challenges of grounding gas installations

Gas transmission and distribution infrastructures require optimum earthing and equipotential bonding to guarantee the safety of equipment and personnel.
Poor dissipation of fault currents or potential differences in the infrastructure can lead to electrical arcing, compromising the integrity of installations and the safety of personnel.

Furthermore, the presence of potential differences between materials can lead to galvanic corrosion, accelerating the degradation of metallic pipes and equipment. Cathodic protection, either by sacrificial anodes (usually zinc) or by impressed current, can help to stabilize the electrical potential of structures.

Our solutions for GRTgaz infrastructures

MALTEP offers products adapted to the earthing and equipotential bonding of gas installations

Galvanized steel cable and fittings

These elements ensure the earthing of gas infrastructures by limiting the risks of galvanic corrosion at the level of connections to steel pipes.

Thermite welding

Ensures continuity of the grounding circuit, eliminates the risk of loosening and corrosion, and ensures efficient dissipation of fault currents.

Grounding electrodes

Dissipate fault and residual currents into the ground, ensuring the absence of static charges.
They are generally marked with signs prohibiting approach to avoid any risk of step voltage.

Our equipment will help you bring your installation into line with current standards, in particular NF C 15-100.
