Round tinned copper braids are typically used to protect against electrostatic overloads, for grounding and earthing of electrical equipment and lightning protection as a dilatation joint between conductors. They are placed between equipment and the ground to transfer electrical surges to ground, or to other components capable of absorbing significant amounts of transient voltage.
MALTEP offers a range of round tinned electrolytic copper braids with strands of 15 or 20/100mm in diameter. Our standard cross sections are between 6mm² and 120mm². MALTEP can offer you alternative cross sections and dimensions upon request.
MOUNTING TIP: Do you require to crimp a tubular terminal lug at the end of the braid ?
To ease the insertion of the braid into the tubular terminal lug, choose a tubular terminal lug with a direct superior cross section
i.e. : For a round braid with a cross section of 50mm², a tubular terminal lug compatible with a conductor cross section of 70mm² must be choosen.
Available on this website, MALTEP can offer flat tinned copper earth braids with standard dimensions.
